Accommodation and meals

Placements are organized in hotels and restaurants which offer live-in accommodation.

Trainees usually live in staff houses, some hotels offer accommodation in hotel rooms and only a few in a place located within a walking distance of a hotel/restaurant (sometimes it is necessary to commute).

Accommodation fees apply, the amount depends on a hotel/restaurant and it is usually from 0 to 70 pounds weekly (most often GBP 35-40/week).

If you are organizing a placement on your own, remember to discuss the accommodation details with your manager before the arrival!

Meals are often included in the accommodation fee or additional charges may apply (approx. GBP 10-15 per day for 3 meals) and served on-duty. If there are no meals included, trainees can use kitchen facilities and cook for themselves. Weekly costs of food in UK are about 40-50 pounds.

IMPORTANT! You must be aware that the standard of accommodation offered to trainees is different than the standard of a hotel. Accommodation on-site considerably reduces the costs of living and commuting and what is more important- it helps to adapt to new situation quickly and easily.

You may choose to resign from accommodation offered by a hotel/restaurant and instead find something on your own.
