Paid hotel placement

Internship and placement programmes abroad are very popular among young people from all over the world. Consequently, each year students and graduates from such countries as Australia, New Zeland, Brasil, South Africa, France, Spain, Germany or Czech Republic come to UK to participate in one of work experience programmes.


These are young people aged 18 to 30 who want to gain new experience, meet new friends and earn some money. A number of students come to spend their gap year in United Kingdom.


Fully paid placements are mainly available in hospitality and catering industry. Most often, young people are employed in the capacity of GENERAL ASSISTANT, which is a mix of duties in various departments.


Trainee's rights:


  • their salary must not be lower than National Minimum Wage currently valid in UK (see more in Salary section),

  • holiday entitlement, if placement is longer than 6 months,

  • tax and insurance contributions are deducted from salary,

  • trainees are not required to have the same work experience as other employees.


Trainee's duties:


  • they should perform duties entrusted to them with due care, as they receive salary for each hour of work,

  • they must abide by the workplace regulations, also when it comes to accommodation,

  • they should follow supervisors' instructions and be flexible when performing their duties.
